Nothing Can Tear Us Apart (Synopsis)
by Wyatt O’Brian Evans What would you do after the man of your dreams battered you because he believed you’d been unfaithful? Then, how would you cope with the revelation that a vicious thug’s treachery was behind your partner’s despicable actions? Could you forgive this man to whom you’ve given every piece of your heart? Such dilemmas occur in Nothing Can Tear Us Apart. It’s the present time in metropolitan Washington, and desirable, wealthy gay Black celebrity Wesley (Wes) Laurence Kelly, 44, yearns for an enduring, satisfying love. Unfortunately, disastrous relationships have left him shattered and disillusioned. Enter Antonio (‘Tonio) Miguel Rios, Jr., 30, a deliciously muscular gay Puerto Rican whom Wes has hired as his bodyguard. He, too, has struck out in love. Then, without warning, that magical, irrefutable, irresistible force known as
chemistry totally engulfs the pair. After finding they have much in common, Wes
and ‘Tonio forge a strong bond. However, they’re too afraid to act on the
growing romantic feelings and sexual urges they have for each other. Soon, Wes and ‘Tonio break down and profess their love for one another. They celebrate in steamy, hot and heavy lovemaking, which sweeps them away. However, tough challenges and obstacles jeopardize their relationship. And then there’s "Ruffkut," a ruthless "gangsta" who has a score to settle with the celeb. The thug sets up Wes to make it appear that he’s been cheating. Taking the bait, the frenzied bodyguard physically brutalizes his partner. The final blow is when the couple learns that Ruffkut was behind the deception! ‘Tonio’s pleas for forgiveness fall of deaf ears. Devastated, and disheartened once again, Wes turns his back on his partner. He ends the relationship. Several months later, Wes hires an escort to try to forget ‘Tonio. However, it doesn’t work. He dismisses the "rent-a-stud" before they can get "horizontal." Within a few minutes, there’s a rap at the door. Hmmm…who could it be? It’s ‘Tonio, who explains that a childhood trauma caused his reprehensible behavior. Wes decides to give the love of his life one more chance. They begin counseling to work out their issues. Unexpectedly, Ruffkut drugs and abducts the lovers. Dazed, Wes awakens in terror to find that they’re shackled to a bomb, about to explode at any moment. Fortunately though, the couple manages to escape. Meanwhile, Ruffkut slithers away, to continue his vendetta later. The couple celebrates their love like it was the very first time. (Marvin Gaye’s "Sexual Healing" sums it up quite nicely!) Basking in the afterglow, Wesley whispers in Antonio’s left ear, "Nothing Can Tear Us Apart." ### 93,000 words |
